Enlightenment

What goes around comes around again. Can't stay down too long without putting false energy into it. Can't elevate too long precisely the same. Can't be wise or foolish too long without artifice as well. That is just the way it is.

My first spirit source was handed me by a red head elf who also gave me my first LSD. He told me I would have a lifelong connection to Taoist vision. He was right, but how that developed had little to do with his vision of it. What he knew was that he was going to get me high on LSD quite soon and that Taoist vision and LSD changes to consciousness are intimately related. What he didn't know was all important to all this for my life. Still this red headed elf pointed me to the ancient chinese and it was not a bum steer.

That is how it works. The truest message often is presented in the oddest package, so much so that the first and most important of the spirit messages is to PAY ATTENTION! Be alert not only straight ahead, but off to the sides. Peripheral vision may save your soul.

Enlightenment

You keep reminding
me to look around at stuff
and me, I go in
looking for my soul
as if I could really see
the shape of you there.
I think arriving
is the end of the journey.
You say no, small one,
It's only the start.

  4. "The truest message is often presented in the oddest package". Good way to put it.

Most people think arriving is the whole point of the journey so that is where they focus and all the energy is gone when they get there.

  5. The Pooh of Christopher :)

Bump bump bump down the stairs.

Yo, Chrisy. My mind is often blank. Unfortunately that happens at work.

TB, I like putting it in terms of energy. The way you put it fits.

  6. The rusted chains of prison moons
    Are shattered by the sun.
I walk a road, horizons change
    The tournament's begun.
The purple piper plays his tune,
    The choir softly sing;
Three lullabies in an ancient tongue,
For the court of the crimson king.

  8. My son just read Shel Silverstein's The Missing Piece tonight. Twice. Huh. He is seven. He had to get it. Wasn't quite sure first time through. You know it? A 5/8ths circle on a quest for its missing piece. Sings all the way. Journey quite grand. Finds piece. Can't sing. Leaves the piece gently and keeps on rolling looking for its missing piece.

The journey. It's all about the journey. Thank you for reminding me time and time again.

    sigh~
    the journey is good.

  9. GD, Thank you. You keep offering memories, stirring my soul with memories.

Joseph, glad to have you here.

Erin, Shel Silverstein might be deeper than you know. 5/8 is exactly the musical fifth. When you do the cycle of fifths, you get all twelve tones, one by one. C goes to G, G goes to D, D goes to A goes to E goes to B goes to F#/Gb and so on. Thus it never ends. Also if you do it perfectly, you end up sharp and no longer in tune, thus if you complete it the music ends. This is my next post. Love you girl.

  10. Do you know, Christopher, I just guessed at the 5/8ths. It is only a picture. I'm wondering where I drew those numbers from...

  11. Oh, I love your poem and your post. So true! I found your blog from Erin's place and followed you here.

I only did LSD once in the 70's. I lay on the grass in a park and saw a jet fly by overhead. I reached into the sky and saw my arm growing out to snatch the jet stream from the sky. I wanted to tie it into a bow for my daughter's hair. My husband saw me put my arm up and asked me what I was doing. When I told him, he said, "Marion, you can't do that or you'll upset the entire universe." I often wonder what would have happened had I ignored him....LOL!

I love reading the Tao, verse 11 is my favorite. Every time I find a new translation I go for that verse:

Thirty spokes are joined together in a wheel,
but it is the center hole that allows the wheel to function.
We mold clay into a pot,
but it is the emptiness inside that makes the vessel useful.
We fashion wood for a house,
but it is the emptiness inside that makes it livable.
    We work with the substantial,
but the emptiness is what we use.

    ~Blessings!!
