It's A Hard Road

It's A Hard Road

Road swimming just sucks
because the gravel gets in
your cracks and your nose.
Your goggles scratch up
and your arms do too and then
you never really
know if you will get
anywhere because the next
lap is straight up hill.

  1. Cool picture! I'm going to send it to my brother. He is an olympic swimmer going through some tough personal times. It's perfect :)

That said, my first thought of self, was that if I found myself swimming on the road, then I MUST be on the wrong path. Boy can I think stupid sometimes.

  2. Well...it's not just any road, Lovey. I don't think you're stupid. I do like the picture. What it feels like to me, it's the way the world outsmarts me all the time, requiring some strange response of me and I feel this much out of place, like I am swimming a road when for crying out loud it ought to be a river or I should be trudging. Like the photo though, I really am quite rightly swimming and it doesn't matter what I feel about it.

The chicken crossed the road. That's poultry in motion.
