Just ordinary,
I choose to sit near the sun,
near the edge of all
the planetary
fields of force and the gas clouds
that fluoresce neon
out beyond late light.
Just ordinary, I've done
the work and I'm here
because I'm not all
there.

Like I've said before, I'd rather be in the eye of the storm than picking up debris afterwards. But you get that I'm not all there either! Not even close :)
ReplyDeleteI love you for it, dear. The trick is to have fun with it way more than to feel blue about it. Sometimes that's all the poetry is about.
DeleteThe poem is actually a spin on another passage I read that day about how enlightenment happens to ordinary people. So the point is that many of us get it.
