"Your actions are your only true belongings."- Allan Lokos
The Spell
I cast a spell stone
for you to drop in water
or your tea. It's small,
a pebble really,
or you could suck on it if
you got too thirsty.
Within the stone find
a truth, itself limitless
though the stone is small,
put my heart there too.

This being the 23rd day of july 7 years to the day of my wedding, I guess signing papers today was too much for my stone to hold...then when she tried to steal a lamp that is mine I wasn't able to let it go...
ReplyDeleteAhhh, what can a stone hold? Where are it's enveloping arms, clutching fingers? That for me is the tension in this piece. Begging the armless thing. I do it often.
ReplyDeleteAnnie, this is a wonderful comment, basically a poem itself. For whatever reason, and this is not the only time it has happened, my email filter thinks your comment is highly untrustworthy and was placed in my spam while the other comment you left on my current post is fine and I found it in my inbox. Wha??
