Bed Habits

Ocean Of Fire

"One should never direct people towards happiness, because happiness too is an idol of the market-place. One should direct them towards mutual affection. A beast gnawing at its prey can be happy too, but only human beings can feel affection for each other, and this is the highest achievement they can aspire to." - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

"Wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving." - Kahlil Gibran

"Forgiveness is choosing to love. It is the first skill of self-giving love." - Mohandas K. Gandhi

Bed Habits

I sleep alone now
on, not in the bed, lifted
on bolsters, wedges,
head high and feet too,
could string a hammock I guess.
It's hard getting old.

It's hard losing love
and I always sleep left side
making room for you.

  1. I like this poem, quotes and pictures.
Affection for each other, yes, a high achievement.

  2. I'm here alone today :) I have never slept in the middle of a bed. Don't think I could. And it feels empty with such longing air hovering over a flat sheet and no displacement.

  3. Kass, long time...thanks for stopping and commenting.

Annie, I understand. I sleep on "my" side of the bed. I try not to muss up "your" side, just in case there is a "you".

On the other hand, I was an only child and then the only boy and so my first 18 years or so was a single bed. I know how to sleep alone.

The chicken crossed the road. That's poultry in motion.
