Pirate Attitude - 3WW

Thom writes:
Each week, I post three words. You write something using the words.

Then come back and post a link to the contribution with Mr. Linky (but please, link to the exact post, not your blog, by clicking on the exact post title and paste it to Mr. Linky below). As always, there's no hard-and-fast rule that you have to post on Wednesday.

This week's words:

Heave; Ponder; Valid.

Pirate Attitude

Well then, Yo heave ho
you blowhards! Put your flipping
backs into it now!
Got to lift a ton
of swag from behind the lines.
Ponder this, boyos.
Figure what's valid
and what's not before you leap.

It's a deep deep sea.

The ooze of your blood
will tell on you far too soon
and bring the great whites
to chew your sorry
bones. They'll leave you hanging out
in pallid tatters.

  1. It's not just sea pirates that leave you in pallid tatters (great line)..there are many tricksy buggers out there..keep your sword drawn at all times..and boots firmly laced and oiled.. ;)

  2. Great bit of piratical scene setting - all it needed was a bottle of rum (Preferably Wood's Old Navy!)

  4. You really enjoyed writing this one, I can tell. You must have pirate or buccaneer ancestry! A hearty piece of writing Thom lad.

    1. Umm, I hope its okay my name is Christopher...

Thanks for your encouragement. My paternal grandmother's line goes through Southern Aristocracy in early America to near relatives of Robert De Bruce in Scotland as best I know. Upstart rebellious Scots. As far as I know no pirates...

  6. Great work with the prompt. Reminds me of 'The Pirates of the Caribbean' movies.

The chicken crossed the road. That's poultry in motion.
