At Year's End - Reprise

Nearly four years now since I started blogging. November 8, coming up in less than a month now, is my anniversary date. Here is one place that I came to early on that journey.

At Year's End

This year's journey west
Was a windy path high up
In the mountain air.

I have reached the edge
Of things, sit still here and look
Back the way I came.

I feel your tug soft
In my hair, in the essence
Of fading perfume.

  1. lovely stuff, as usual.
i began blogging on encouragement from my son in january 2009. it has and continues to be such a delight.
i am happy to be back reading and posting after a nasty surgery and its necessary recovery period.
    hope you are well, christopher

    1. I think you said you were having something done. I am sad to know it was difficult...we all know it is difficult...we all shrink from it. I would like to think that I would stand tall and give you all you might need that I could give were I your neighbor, your close friend, your nurse. You are one on this planet I am sure deserves it. I am happy to know you are up and about a little once again.

  2. Four years already! I'm coming up to six, it seems strange that we've been on this particular road alongside each other for longer than I was on it before. Hope to be keeping you company for a long while yet.

    1. That would please me for I anticipate many delights and deeper things than that from both your land and mine. The trouble with growing older is how quickly things come and pass away, so little time now as was once eons or so it seemed.

The chicken crossed the road. That's poultry in motion.
