Eddie Hopper Proposes

My Dad has money.
He wants me to have a trade.
I paint as I want
Waiting for something.

I take in students because
I need the fucking
money more than freedom
right now but I promise you
I will get by and

then someday I will
hit it big.

  1. I feel like saying: "So there" So, I will!
    So there! :)
Glad he did it 'his way'

  2. I like where you took this one there!

  3. so down on student!!!

but you learn so much by teaching!!!

    neither good nor bad

verification makes it really hard to comment. you'd get more comments if you turned it off. i had to do this several times to get it to work.

  4. at least he got to make money following his passion you know....could be a whole lot worse...and he did make it...

  5. Personal and engaging, thank you for sharing this, Christopher. =D

  6. thank you all for your attention. I am pleased to offer up this post, and I thank the muses for giving me the hook I needed to pull the information together. I didn't know what to write as a poem until I saw the message Hopper wrote to offer himself as a teacher sometime between 1910 and 1920.

zongrik, I do know the blessing that can often come from a teaching gig. I also know how difficult that gig can be when it steals your creative time.

  7. I'm smiling...and I think Hopper is too...

The chicken crossed the road. That's poultry in motion.
