A Green Dream

I've dug my way out
from beneath the roots of oak
and scrub onto green
framed sand paved forking
paths to who knows where they go.

Certainly I don't.

I call it "Follow
The Dog" because one of my
youngest memories
was doing just that,
going somewhere new to me
trailing an Irish
Setter who roamed free -
1949 that was.

Now, here, on my own
I've gone to a dream,
a screen atop the expanse
of my current hope.

  7. To be sure following the dog down the hill behind UC in Berkeley, through the Uni along Strawberry Creek and into the city beyond is all real. I forget the dog's breed. I got lost following the dog back home because it outrank me in the hills. I tried to find my way but I had never been on the hill above my home so I thought going down the hill meant going away from home. I just lay down on a bench put on the walk for resting - steep hill - and that's where Mom found me. I was two blocks above my house but otherwise right above. I caught He'll for that.

The chicken crossed the road. That's poultry in motion.
