Ghost Dansing has set this poem up precisely so I am bringing today's comment forward.
Ghost Dansing wrote
"i like when you write about your poetry because it helps me understand how wrong you are about your poetry :)"
How can I add to that?
Saving Myself
Sometimes my brain's like
a flock when the eagle shows,
and I scatter out
of formation to
save myself from being caught
in truth's twin talons.
What else can I do?

Love "truth's twin talons"! Ghost is a wise spirit, I think.
ReplyDeleteExcellent metaphor! Perhaps you should undertake a migration to stave off eagle troubles...
ReplyDeleteSurvival mechanism... sometimes it's best to take cover. Even when the eagle is of your own making.
ReplyDeletei know the exact sensation of which you write.....
ReplyDeleteAt least you are still able to be in touch with your brain.
ReplyDeleteTB, how do you touch a thinning flock of birds?? :)
ReplyDeleteDanny says we gotta go. Gotta go to Idaho
ReplyDeleteBut we can't go surfin' 'cause it's 20 below.
Sound check's at 5:02. Record stores and interviews.

Oho-ho-ho, we got nowhere to go and it may sound
Funny, but's true. Hangin' out in 100 B watching

You and me and you and me.
Hangin' out in L.A. And there's nowhere to go.
It ain't Christmas if there ain't no snow.
Listening to Sheena on the radio.

i'll paste a video of it someplace else....
GD, I get it that you can and do think of many other things as you think of my poetry, but in all honesty, I have no clue what the connection could be this time. I'll sign this
ReplyDeleteC at sea
the connection would be loose in this particular case :)
