Tuesday Morning - A Magpie Tale

Tuesday Morning

I'm guessing you fly
in your dreams, flapping feathered
wings, and your breasts bound
tightly in mohair
that lets the wind pass on through,
chilling your heart's blood.

I'm guessing you're right
for me though no one else thinks
that and tells us both
to steer clear or else.

I lie back down when you've left
for work, wrapped up
and taking it all
in - all the signs, all the smells
you leave behind, shine
of a party line.

  1. I really like poetry like this, a sliver of life that isn't good or bad, it's just real and so emotions are real too, doubt and elation at the same time, other things mixing in. Nice work.

  3. I enjoyed this and was born on a Tuesday it's my fav day of the week. The week is still fresh and may have something good to offer.

You used to live in the Bay Area? I do now. Not surprised you're in Oregon then. Take care.

    1. Born in Berkeley, high school in Santa Clara, college in San Jose a couple times and at West Valley CC for a semester. A false start at Santa Clara U. Hooked up with a lady back in the day who got a slot in the Portland State U.s MSW program, one of the two best in the country at that time. That's why and I haven't regretted it for a minute.

  4. Ahh, the good ole reminiscing/reflecting on a relationship and the partner. Pondering.
